Wireless technology offers many benefits to Canadians. Millions of individuals rely on wireless communications to enhance their personal security and safety, enjoy more frequent contact with family, friends and business associates, and make more productive use of their personal and professional time.  As more people use wireless services, TELUS is required to respond to the needs of its customers across Canada through network expansion and improvements.

Although Industry Canada has exclusive jurisdiction over the placement of wireless telecommunications facilities, service providers are required to consult with land use authorities over significant proposals. The municipal consultation process is intended to provide an opportunity to have land use concerns addressed while respecting federal jurisdiction over the installation and operations of telecommunications systems.

Bringing wireless technology to communities is a collaborative effort. TELUS works with local residents, community members and governing bodies to ensure service is implemented in a future friendly way.
